We headed to granny's house on Christmas eve. It's one of our many family gatherings. & This time round, all the ladies have to cook something for dinner. So yeah, being one of the female in the few who turned up, i have to present something nice and of course, edible :)
& yes! of course i do research! Hah, that very morning, i surfed the net, hoping to get some interesting and easy recipe to learn. And, was kind of interested in a few dishes from Cuisine Paradise. Yups, a few dishes of hers such as Coke pork ribs, thai style tofu and fried wings caught my attention.
However, i decided to cook Stir-fried Pork Fillet with Longan in the end. I find it kind of, unique. Why? Because there's a mixture of meat, veggie, and fruits. Also, i find it healthy and interesting to add in fruits to a dish.
Longan is one of the main ingredient used. Mum and I bought fresh longans from the fruit stall that morning, instead of using canned ones. Canned ones usually have additional sugar and artificial flavour~
TaDa! Presenting my dish! I used the exact recipe from Cuisine Paradise.

Recipe taken from here.
Ingredients:
20 - 25 Fresh Longans, removed shell & seeds
300g Fatty Beef/Pork Fillet, thinly sliced
1 Stalk Of Spring Onion, cut into sections
3 Slices Of Ginger, shredded
Some carrot slices
Marinade:
1/2 Tablespoon Light Soy Sauce
1 Teaspoon Dark Soy Sauce
1 Teaspoon Sesame Oil
1 Teaspoon Cooking Wine
1/2 Teaspoon Sugar
1 Teaspoon Cornflour
Methods:
1. Marinate the meat with the above marinade for at least 30 minutes or more.
2. Shell and remove the seed from the longans, rinse and set aside.
3. Heat about 1 1/2 Tablespoons of Sesame Oil/Oil in a wok, saute the ginger, spring onion and carrot until fragrant then add in the meat and stir-fry until almost done.
4. Add in longans, stir-fry quickly for about 30 seconds or so then remove and serve
Was kinda satisfied and happy that my family agrees with me that this dish taste not bad :)

My mum fried some prawns and made a dip out of salad dressings and wasabi. My granny whipped 3 dishes. Tonic soup, stir-fry cauliflowers and stir-fry 'xian cai'~
The fried chicken wings are bought from the coffeeshop, just the block next to my granny's.
We end off the meal with some desserts aka 'tangshui' (which means sugar soup in english). & It's meant to be sweet.

My 'Jiu-Mu' prepared this cooling dessert. Mum told me that it's a lot of hard work especially taking the seed out of the gingko nuts.
Well, my Jiu-Mu added gingko nuts, barley seeds, quail eggs as well as dried beancurd(for cooking dessert).
This tangshui is so yummy that i requested for 3 bowls of this that night! Oh, and another reason is that mum says that it helps to improve and aids in the development of fairer skin :D Haha.

The following morning, which was Christmas Day(25Dec), my family & aunt headed out to have breakfast. We ended up at Clementi area, and i suggested to go to a particular prata shop that i always patron after school. So, we made our way to MrPrata!
Mr Prata is only opened this february. & I've went there more than ten times? Hah, cos it's very near my school area, and i often go there for lunch after school. Everytime, i would order Mushroom&Cheese prata or Banana Prata. But, i wanted to try something new this time.
& Cool! They've just established some new Pratas! French Prata, Italian Prata, Durian Prata, Maggi Prata and so on. My dad wanted to order Durian Prata at first, but my mum stopped him. Mum explained that durian dipped with curry will taste and looks horrid, so we didnt dare to try. However, i think i shall return and try it myself the next time round.
So, we placed our orders. The adults ordered Teh-Tarik while Sis&I had Milo Dinosaur.

Milo Dinosaur ($2.00)
Nothing special here, hah. It's taste like normal milo, just with some milo powder topped on the top. I've drank this for many many times already, so nothing special. Hah, someday, i would very much want to try Milo godzilla. Chocolate icecream is topped together with the milopowder on the iced milo.
All the pratas are freshly prepared, only does the chef starts frying after an order is placed, so some waiting time have to be spared.
I ordered the French and Icecream Prata ($3.50) as the picture from the menu really makes me drool.

and so as the product itself.
One whole cripsy roti prata topped with strawberry ice cream, chocolate rice and hot chocolate syrup. yumyum! & there's something else hidden in the prata......

Banana Slices!! The chocolate and banana blends pretty well with the prata. Definately recommended for those who love sweet stuffs like i do!
Sis had the Banana and Cheese Prata ($3.00).

Lots of cheese and slices of bananas stuffed inside the prata. In addition, Mozzarella cheese instead of cheese slices are used, so the cheese is evenly spreaded throughout.
Daddy&Aunt ordered the plain and the egg prata respectively. I think that they should try pratas with fillings though.
Anyway, My mum ordered Tissue Prata. ($1.50)

Tissue pratas are one of those pratas which directly reflects the skill and efforts of the chefs. Something unusual and special of Tissue Prata as compared to the rest is because of it's texture. Tissue pratas are usually odourless and very cripsy. The chef had taken the extra effort to butter the underside of the prata before adding sugar to it.
True to its name, Mr Prata is certainly the master of roti prata(s).
