Had a rather healthy dinner just now. Bought a packet of rice from this foodcourt next to ChoaChuKang Mrt (near the big sweep there, not in the lot1 mall).
I seldom go to this place, but it's quite convenient for me as there's is LRT nearby :) So trained down and bought this from a Vegetarian Stall.
Mixture of Brown & White Rice, Stir-fry Toufu, Beancurd skins, Potatoes and peas.
Only $2.20 :D
Brown rice and white rice have similar amounts of carbohydrates but the difference between the two lies in processing and nutritional content. If the outermost layer of a grain of rice is removed, the result is brown rice. If the bran layer underneath are removed, the result is white rice.
Thus, it is true to say that brown rice are more nutritional than white rice.

Looks like the rice I always have in my blog. I think it is red cargo rice you are having mixed in your white rice leh. Brown rice is light brown, not so red. But red cargo or brown, they are both healthy versions of rice. You and your family should eat more of this rice. :D

tigerfish: Oh. Haha, yups both are healthy :D I'm not quite sure of whether it's red cargo or brown rice, cos the vendor was saying brown rice :X Ha Anyway, i would love to eat this version of rice more often, but my mum and dad still prefers white rice though :/ Awww.
